The Adult Psychiatric Access Line (APAL) offers free consultation and care navigation for Virginia PCPs concerning an adult patient with behavioral health concerns.
APAL is available statewide, and there is no cost to PCPs or their patients for services.
What Happens When You Call APAL?
When Virginia PCPs call 1-888-371-8627 and press 3, they can:
- Receive a consultation regarding their adult patient with behavioral health concerns. This consultation can be with psychiatric specialists, addiction medicine specialists (18+), clinical pharmacists, or licensed mental health professionals.
- Utilize care navigation, a service which promptly connects their patient to behavioral health, substance use, and other vital resources in their area.
