The Adult Psychiatric Access Line (APAL) offers free consultation and care navigation for Virginia PCPs concerning an adult patient with behavioral health concerns.
APAL is available statewide, and there is no cost to PCPs or their patients for services.
What Happens When You Call APAL?
When Virginia PCPs call 1-888-371-8627 and press 3, they can:
- Receive a consultation regarding their adult patient with behavioral health concerns. This consultation can be with physician specialists, psychiatric specialists, or licensed mental health professionals.
- Utilize care navigation, which helps your patients connect directly with local mental health resources. You will receive follow-up communication regarding any recommendations
